What separates an elite fighter from their competition is an ability to overcome adversity in times where the spotlight is the most blinding. As ordinary human beings, we perceive this unwavering quality as a gift very few are blessed with, a sort of gladiatorial gene.
Maybe we’re just kidding ourselves because, in reality, anyone can stand once they’ve fallen, it’s just a matter of channeling it within themselves.
Adversity is an unavoidable truth of life, an opponent we’ll all have to face sooner or later, over and over again. As with martial arts, what separates those that succeed from those that fold is an ability to remain firm and calculated in the eyes of trial and tribulation.
Don’t get caught up in the humdrum of life, but rather take the road less traveled, embrace the uncomfortable, and develop the conditioning required to defeat the many challenges that life throws your way.
